The Gateway Exam covers differentiation and consists of ten questions drawn randomly from a pool of one hundred questions. The Gateway Exam is a no partial credit exam worth 10% of the final grade. Students earn a score of 0 or 10 on the Gateway Exam.
Students earn full credit by passing either the Paper Gateway Exam or the In-lab Gateway Exam. A Paper Gateway Exam will be administered in Recitation sections during the 1st meeting of Week 7 (October 6th or October 7th). Students who correctly answer 8, 9, or 10 of the questions earn full credit and do not need to take the In-Lab Gateway Exam. The In-Lab Gateway Exam is passed with a score of 8, 9, or 10.

In Fall 2021 the in-lab Gateway Retakes will be adminstered Wednesday, October 13th until Tuesday, October 26th in Snow 159. If you have not passed the paper gateway exam in the 2nd recitation session of Week 7, take advantage of this oppurtunity
The deadline to pass the Gateway Exam is Tuesday 10/26 at 5pm.
